Terrible Experience – Canadian Tire Whitby Store 155 Consumer DR , Whitby.
One of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. I purchased a MotoMaster Nautilus battery on June 30, 2025, and asked staff if it would work with my trolling motor. They gave no proper guidance and told me to “just search online.”
When the battery didn’t work, I tried returning it on July,3rd 2025, First visit: no manager. Second visit: the manager, Larry, was extremely rude and aggressive. He raised his voice in front of my 2- and 5-year-old kids, saying, “You bought it, it’s yours now.” He refused the return, claiming it was final sale, showing a small paper sign I never saw.
I tried to explain that The receipt says nothing about final sale, and Canadian Tire’s online return policy doesn’t mention batteries are non-returnable. Yet Larry refused to listen and kept an intimidating tone.
This store lacks transparency and basic respect for customers. Once they have your money, they don’t care. I’ve contacted customer service and am still waiting for a resolution.
I will never shop at this location again — and I’ve lost trust in Canadian Tire overall. Avoid this place if you want honest service and respectful treatment.
