Attention/Prudence. For me, “Buyer Beware”. Red flags everywhere.
This includes ECOCLIM will poorly install your costly brand new thermopump and will not take responsibility for it (i.e. Ecoclim flare connection issues on installation, etc). Incredibly only 1 year and 9 months after installation, freeon leak issues. Worse off, incredibly took them 36 days to repair. Within 2 years, my neighbor incredibly also had a freeon leak with the same GREE FLEXX THERMOPUMP machine. So something is up. Machine downtime has exceeded over 100 days in the first 2 years alone due to machine and internal ECOCLIM process issues.
They appear either to be short-staffed, doing rush jobs, have poor internal training , have poor internal processes and/or will provide poor customer service after installation.
To this day, although they say they are experts & have been is business ~17 years, that they have all the up to date tools/technology, that they had sent their top GREE after-installation technician, they still refuse to admit that that is their fault on installation (i.e. poorly installed flare) as they refuse to explain the root cause of the problems with my brand new GREE FLEXX thermopump.
So be prepared to potentially pay an extra $250-$1,500 per year for ~10 years in diagnostic follow-ups, repairs and yearly freeon leaks which are not covered after year 1. Also, be prepared to allocate significant time chasing and following-up with ECOCLIM. It will like being stuck in a bad relationship for 10 years.
In addition, various questionable pressure tactics to do repairs & keep appointments. Case in point, after ECONCLIM’s diagnostic visit of Sept. 3, 2024, I got a call from someone as ECOCLIM to pay the diagnostics fee of ~$200 if I wanted to get a follow-up appointment. Worse off, I did not even get an invoice 1st. I had to ask for the invoice copy so I can understand what I am paying just as I imagine you both would like to see your invoice before you pay anything. I then receive a shocking quote of $1,100 plus taxes without any details that I was told to accept if I wanted to retain the follow-up repair of Sept 6, 2024. This is a very poor process and one pressure tactic they appear to be using. So unless you are rich, challenge ECOCLIM at every opportunity you get.
In addition, very unusual practice of asking customers to sign an “ACCEPTANCE FORM” incredibly before they install the machine. Never seen this in my life. My neighbor down the street was also asked by ECOCLM to do the same thing so it is not just me.
Also, ECOLCIM destroyed my basement to initially install my thermopump after miscommunication between their sales rep and their installation crew. Sales rep said no issues to move my thermopump to other side of the house. Unfortunately, I now have a long, gaping hole in my ceiling in basement that has yet still to be compensated by ECOCLIM.
Also, ECOCLIM is the only company in the heating/air-conditioning industry in Laval that I am aware of that asks for a credit card PREPAYMENT for follow-up diagnostics without performing the work ….and this without any supporting documentation (i.e. quote with sales taxes, etc). Owner, Vincent Benoit, says it is their policy for 10 years but this important policy that impacts their customers is nowhere to be found on their website. Lack of transparency. Their admin person named Sandra even contradicted the owner & told me it is only since Jan’2025 so there is a disconnect somewhere. Perhaps lack of internal training.
In May 2025, I had to send a registered letter listing ~10 issues to get their full attention.
After, got on a call and owner, named Vincent Benoit, refused to provide his work email to help with follow-up (i.e. dumps his poor processes and installation problems on his staff). Also, on our call, deceivingly did not tell me I was on speakerphone and that he had someone else in the room. Although made no difference as I kept things professional, for me, just not someone you just not want to deal with.
So, for me, it’s a big “Buyer Beware”. And coincidentally the only negative Google review I have given.
Of course, you can try for yourself and “roll the dice” on an expensive machine.
