ZERO STARS!
I'm extremely disappointed with Glow and Co Makeup. They charge a hefty retainer fee of $340, supposedly for a "complimentary" makeup trial. Let's be real, "complimentary" means FREE. But in this case, it was anything but.
The $340 fee is not credited towards the bridal day makeup services. Instead, it's a non-refundable payment just for the trial session. If you're not satisfied with the trial, tough luck - you've just lost $340. And if you decide to cancel the bridal services altogether, you're still out that $340.
To add insult to injury, the makeup look they created was completely off-base. We were expecting a beautiful, elegant bridal look, but what she got was more suited for a night out at the club. The heavy bronzer and dramatic eyeliner were not what I paid for.
It's no wonder they need a retainer fee - I'd guess it's to protect themselves from clients canceling due to subpar work. If their services were top-notch, they wouldn't need to lock people in with upfront fees. It seems like they're more interested in securing payment than providing quality makeup services.
Needless to say, I won't be recommending Glow and Co Makeup to anyone without serious reconsideration. To top it off she responded with a instagram story about our discussion on retainer fees. So unprofessional.
