I have rented multiple times while in university and never before have I had such a difficult time receiving assistance with building maintenance. When I originally moved in to a property in Prince Albert, our bath was cracked (an issue known about and promised to be fixed before move in date but was not). To give some context, move in date was set for January first but pushed to the 15th. The crack was fixed two weeks later and then we were told that the baseboards (removed while fixing the bathtub) would be fixed soon, that was four months ago and still no such luck. My second issue involved appliances. particularly a broken dishwasher when we first moved into the unit. that luckily got fixed January 24/25, nine days after move in. An air conditioner was also advertised on their website was not installed. When testing all the appliances when I moved in (something I thought may be a good idea after finding out the dishwasher was not functional or even tested before move in). I found that the AC was also not working. After speaking with the tenant manager, she did not know why but after some enquiry, stated it is not hooked up yet but would be finished "before spring." I took that to mean mid March; however, the technicians came to install the unit April 24/25. The story unfortunately does not end there; I came home from work to find out that since one of the electrical components was either improperly installed or not installed at all, I will have to wait until an electrician can fix it before I can have a working air conditioner. I am crossing my fingers but given historical precedence, I will not get my hopes up. This is all to say: while I understand that mistakes happen and things do not always go perfectly, I would never recommend anyone stay in one of these buildings unless they are easily satisfied with empty promises.
