I applied for a quote from 5 Better Business Bureau registered garage door installers and also from Martin, a reference from a friend. I sent photos and dimensions as requested, but no BBB guys came out to look at the two doors I wanted. One sent a proper quotation showing a Liftmaster opener and American garage doors with an R value 0f 7. Two other guys ballparked it by email, same specs, and the others did not reply. All were local. Martin came out from Port Coquitlam to South Surrey, measured up, used Liftmaster openers and Steel-Craft doors, which are made in Alberta and with an R value of 16. Also included with these doors, not as an extra, is a draft strip along the top and sides. His price was the same as the lowest I got from the others. His work is very neat, he came when he said he would, he took away the old doors and I have never had a problem with them since, and that was nearly two years ago.
