I had a very disappointing experience at Pedi N Nails in Ajax and feel it's important to share. I visited on May 14th and specifically asked for an experienced nail technician. Unfortunately, I was not provided with one. During the pedicure, I was actually hurt — which should never happen during what’s meant to be a relaxing service.
For my manicure, I requested coffin-shaped nails with a matte black finish, which is a style I’ve consistently worn for years and consider my signature look. Instead of simply honoring my request, I was told it would look "ugly, messy, and gross." I was shocked by the unprofessional and judgmental comment.
Despite voicing my dissatisfaction with the service, I left the salon hoping the quality would at least hold up. Unfortunately, just three days later, the polish began peeling in chunks, almost as if it had been exposed to acid. I contacted the salon, and they told me to come in the next day.
When I returned, three different nail techs worked on my nails, and one of them severely messed up the shape. I brought it to the attention of the receptionist (who I believe may be related to the owner or one of the main nail techs), and she quickly passed me to another tech who looked completely confused and unsure of what to do. As I tried to calmly explain that the shape didn't match my original request, another tech began yelling at me, claiming I never specified the shape — which was completely untrue. I was not asking for a new design, just a fix for what had been done incorrectly.
Even more concerning: two nails broke shortly afterward, and one caused damage down to my nail bed, clearly due to improper application. I called again to speak with the owner. I was told they would call me on Sunday, May 25th, but I never heard back. I followed up again on Tuesday the 26th, and the receptionist laughed, admitting she forgot to pass on the message and that the owner was sick but would call me by Thursday the 29th. It’s now June 3rd, and I still have not received any communication or resolution.
This experience was not only disappointing — it was painful, disrespectful, and deeply unprofessional. I strongly advise others to avoid this salon. They rush through services, have inexperienced staff performing procedures they clearly aren't trained for, and show no accountability when issues arise. Your time and money deserve better.
