I went to Pro Active Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine in Aurora last year after having two total knee replacements (tkr) in less than two months. Each of the physical therapists who treated me was excellent—caring, thorough, personable, and highly skilled.
I saw Rachel for my left knee, and she was very perceptive in knowing just how far I should be pushed in doing my PT. She could tell I wanted to get back “to normal” ASAP, but Rachel also knew that it takes time to recover from major surgery, such as total knee replacements. I was making outstanding progress when she informed me that she had some bad news—she was leaving Pro Active to work at a different facility much closer to her home. I was quite upset to hear that, but the good news is that the therapist for my right tkr, Sarah, also did a terrific job.
By the end of my physical therapy, I had flexion range of motion in the mid-to upper 130 degrees in both knees, when 120 degrees is often considered a successful, functional result post- total knee replacement. The staff and interns at Pro Active were extremely helpful in my treatment as well.
I highly recommend Sarah and everyone else at Pro Active Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine in Aurora for anyone in need of physical therapy.
